New Planner Recruiting Launches Most Comprehensive Screening Service In The Industry For Evaluating New Financial Planners
New Service Will Combine Comprehensive Criminal, Background And Reference Checks with Personality Profiles and a Proprietary Financial Planning Knowledge and Skills Assessment
July 29, 2013 - Due to popular demand, financial planner search-and-hiring firm New Planner Recruiting has launched a standalone service to offer screening of financial planning candidates for advisory practices that are seeking to narrow their list of potential hires to make a good decision. The new service will cover not only the time consuming back office legwork of thoroughly screening candidates for credit history, criminal background checks, FINRA and SEC licensing verification and review, reference checks, but will also include a job personality profile and New Planner Recruiting’s proprietary financial planning skills and knowledge assessment tools.
“While in the past we have worked primarily with firms that wanted to outsource the bulk of their hiring process, an increasing number of firms have approached us recently asking for assistance in screening their own candidates to ensure they are making a good decision before putting forth a job offer,” said founding partner Caleb Brown. “After years of refining our own screening process in placing candidates with advisory firms, we decided to offer this new service on a standalone basis for firms that need assistance in this key area of their own hiring process.”
The New Planner Recruiting candidate screening service will be offered at three pricing tiers – Silver, Gold, and Platinum – with a basic package that includes licensing, criminal, credit, and other background checks, and a premium version that includes all of our firm’s knowledge and skills assessment tools. Pricing will vary from $199 to $599 per candidate, and most firms are anticipated to put 2-3 “finalist” candidates through the process at once to compare and contrast when making a final decision about a potential job offer. “What excites me most about this new offering is our proprietary set of skills and knowledge assessment tools to evaluate the capabilities of a prospective new financial planner to really do the work required in the job,” said Brown’s partner Michael Kitces. “We are the only firm in the industry to offer advisory firms this kind of unique and comprehensive assessment of the abilities of a potential new financial planner.”
About New Planner Recruiting
New Planning Recruiting, LLC specializes in placing students graduating from CFP Board registered programs at firms seeking to fill entry level full-time professional financial planning positions. The firm’s mission is to help financial planning business owners leverage their time by finding, selecting, and securing quality talent to help them grow, and to ensure that quality new financial planners are able to find employment that fits their unique talents and skills, in pursuit of securing mutual success for the business owner and new planner.
New Planner Recruiting was established after seeing the many frustrations of financial planners, regarding professional staffing issues within financial planning firms. The amount of time spent (sometimes wasted) is often enormous when firm owners do not know what they are looking for, or how to find and evaluate the right talent for their business. The mismatches that occur when firms and candidates are not the right fit can impede the success of both the planner and the firm.
New Planner Recruiting was co-created by Caleb Brown, creator of the FPA’s Career Day program, and FPA NexGen co-founder Michael Kitces.
